Welcome to the Module 1: Introduction to Teaching Online

Before we begin exploring the best practices in teaching online it is important to understand the key differences between teaching online and teaching in-person. While many of your teaching practices are still very useful and relevant for teaching online, you will need to adapt your practices to be more effective and appropriate in an online teaching environment. 

In this module we will explore two important topics: 

The key differences between teaching online and in-person. We will highlight practical ways you can adjust your teaching and lessons to be more effective

We will examine the differences between synchronous teaching and asynchronous teaching and how you can organize your lessons and materials to take advantage of these two methods of delivering your instruction.
